Kimberly Matulich-Beck began her dance education at a young age with Kathy Gamble in New Orleans. She continued her studies at the Ballet Hysell school, studying with Mr. Harvey Hysell and Maestro Vincenzo Celli, a foremost teacher of the Cecchetti ballet method. She went on to dance with the Nashville Ballet, and next with the the Alabama Ballet under the direction of Wes Chapman. She was featured in both contemporary and classical works, partnered with Chapman himself, and quickly rose to the rank of principal dancer. Ms. Matulich left the Alabama Ballet to work with choreographer Kenn Tolle, for whom she performed and toured nationally as the principal dancer with his Christian ballet company, Hosanna Sacred Arts.
Locally, she was on the faculty at NOCCA and has performed as a guest artist for the Loyola Ballet, Ballet Hysell, the Jefferson Ballet Theatre, River Region Ballet and the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. She is married to Kenneth Beck, a lifelong member of the New Orleans dance community.
Ms. Matulich-Beck was certified as a ballet instructor by the acclaimed pedagogist, Ruth C. Petrinovic. She is also a certified Pilates instructor.
