A Midsummer Night’s Dream Ballet, a two-act ballet choreographed to Felix Mendelssohn’s music to Shakespeare’s play of the same name. Saturday May 14 at 7:30 PM & Sunday, May 15 at 2:00 PM.

Jefferson Ballet Theatre presents a full length production of the Hans Christian Anderson tale, Snow Queen. Set to contemporary music and original choreography by Kenneth Beck and Kimberly Matulich-Beck. Thursday, January 7th at 7:30pm and Saturday January 9th at 7:30pm

The 2012 Jefferson Ballet Theatre’s Winter Concert featured three new, original contemporary ballets: “Le Triomphe de l’ Amour” (choreographed and staged by Ms. Gayle Parmelee), “The Skaters’ Waltz” and a one hour long presentation of The Snow Queen.


March 30, April 6-7, 2013: Moscow Nights Inc. www.moscownightsus.com will present Cinderella, featuring Jefferson Ballet Theatre for children of all ages at the Russian Festival for Children, “Cinderella,” as written in 1938 by Russian author and playwright Evgeny Stvarts.

The Russian Festival began in 1998 in an effort to celebrate and promote Russian culture in New Orleans. This year’s event will include a Russian Tea Room and Bazaar showcasing a variety of Russian arts and other items. This production of Cinderella is supported by grants from the New Orleans Theatre Association, and the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council administered by the Arts Council of New Orleans. In the Knights of Sparta Mardi Gras Ball, The Jefferson Ballet Theatre performed excerpts from the Camille Saint-Sens ballet, “The Carnival of the Animals”, featuring a performance of Kimberly Matulich-Beck as “The Swan”. The presentation was so well received that The Jefferson Ballet Theatre was dubbed the krewe’s “Official Ballet Company”.   

The Jefferson Ballet Theatre’s Spring Concert, entitled “A Concert of Classics”, presented three ballet standards, all original choreographed in the nineteenth century:  “Pas de Quatre”, “Le Jardin” (from the full length ballet, “Le Corsaire”) and Giselle”, Act II.   

In June, the Myra Mier School of Ballet presented its Annual dance recital. The performance was held at Jesuit High School, and featured excerpts from several ballets, including “Le Corsaire”, “Coppellia”,  “The Carnival of the Animals” and “Sleeping Beauty”. The concert also featured the beginnings of a new contemporary ballet by Matulich-Beck, “Go!”.
